ABOUT COWTOWN 2003
The Fort Worth RFC is looking to expand and
improve what has become a great annual tournament for 2003. With the
renovated Rolling Hills Complex as host, we hope to secure 8 pitches and
accommodate 50 teams.
Highlights for 2003:
- Outstanding pitches! Fort Worth’s Rolling Hills - Site of 2002 & 2003 Western RFU Championships and USA Rugby Division I National Quarterfinals)
- Competitive divisions for every level! - There are now six (6) divisions - Men's Premier, Men's Open, Collegiate Premier, Collegiate Open, Old Boys Over 35, & Women.
- Up to 50 teams! - An expansion
has allowed the entry of more than 50 teams. Get your registration
in early to guarantee your spot!
- Each team is
guaranteed 3 matches on the weekend, with a maximum of 5
forty-minute matches.
- Custom trophies for 1st and 2nd place
finishes in each division.
- Friday night welcome party
for those who must get started early.
- Famous Pub Crawl! With contest, prizes and
giveaways, the only thing left to do is the math. One Saturday night.
Four pubs. Dozens of rugby teams. Thousands of beers. Plenty of hangovers.
Schedule:
With the available pitches, we will have a
relaxed schedule including the earliest kickoff at 8:00 AM, with all matches complete by
5:30 PM. (Your club will play either an early or late schedule, and if you have an early kickoff you will have an early finish,
a late first kickoff will result in a late final kickoff, etc.)
Weather:
Weather.com lists average highs for Fort Worth at 76 degrees and overnight average lows at 60
degrees in mid-October. This is a beautiful time in Fort Worth, with typically bright blue skies, lots of sun, and
cool breezes.
Tent Rentals:
Rolling Hills is an exceptional facility, but unfortunately there is no shade in the park. We offer 10' x 20'
pavilion tent rentals for $100 for the weekend. These tents will be
set up for you by Heineken Cowtown Staff each
day. To reserve one of these tents, email cowtown@fortworthrugby.com
and include an extra $100 with your registration.
